Sidney and Emily's Reflections
Sidney's reflections
Overview
Overall, I enjoyed this project because it has not only helped me become a better cook, but it also taught me about the hard work that is required to put into it. Before this experience, I was not interested in learning how to cook. However, I chose cooking as my topic because I wanted to complete something that I was not motivated to do. After creating my meals, I started to develop a sense of accomplishment. This task influenced me to want to further my cooking skills and become better with each meal I cooked.
What I learned
Something I believe all cookers or bakers should do is clean up or put away materials as you go. I learned the hard way from cooking my breakfast meal, as there were multiple sections of the procedure. At the end, I spent so much time cooking that I forgot what was left to clean up. This caused lots of frustration, but taught me a valuable lesson. Always keep the end in mind.
Improvements
In any aspect of life, there are always things to improve on. In other words, cooking is something I can always continue to learn about and improve my skills. Something I struggle with is following specific detailed questions. For example, a recipe would give ingredients to mix together first then mix it in with the other group of mixed ingredients. I often would pour all ingredients into the bowl and the same time rather than separate certain ingredient mixture and put them together. However, with more experience comes better results. I am confident that after I cook meals frequently I will greatly develope new skills.
