Sidney and I had the opportunity to interview a family friend, Eric Jones, who works and cooks for a catering company in Grove City. Sidney and I asked him a few questions during our capstone experience to get his input as a professional in the cooking industry. His responses are below.
1. What is your favorite part about cooking?
" Well I love Cooking in general, it is one of my passions, and hobbies, just like people like to play sports, or are into music, I enjoy Cooking. But if I were to pick one specific part about coking, it would be the finished product of course. I love to see what my work turns out like. How it looks , how it tastes, not only for myself but also for others. I make a lot of things for my family and when they love it, then I love it."
2. Do you enjoy cooking?
" Yes I enjoy it very much. Sometimes I find it as a stress reliever, and I mean who does not like to relieve stress!"
3. What is one major thing you have learned throughout your cooking career?
"I think a big thing I have learned is that cooking is an art. There is no right or wrong way to cook. You always have the option to make it yours. The recipe is there as a guideline for the most part, you can add things at your own wish or you can say I don't like the flavor of this and change it!"
4. What is your favorite food to cook?
" That is a hard one, I would have to say pastas are one of my favorite things to cook because there is so much variety when it comes to the sauces, the different meats, the vegetables and the herbs and the spices you can put it and give them all such a different flavor. You can truly make them your own
